Camping at the beach this weekend – smores, campfires, friends, family, hunting for treasures with my 7 year-old (cool rocks for him, beautiful sea glass for me), alternating between dodging from and diving into waves, dolphin sightings, giggly times, quiet times, falling asleep to a serenade of wave songs – I am reminded once again that my soul lives at the ocean and sometimes I get to go visit it there.

Love your photo, and especially that last line — and am fully living it, though I’ve only seen the ocean up close and personal in 2011… I’ve *always* been fascinated by it though.
Wow! I can’t imagine only seeing the ocean once in my life – because I can never get enough of it and it’s about an hour away from me. But it sounds like your ocean experience left a good impression on you! (And I soooo get that! I’ve been this way ever since the first time I visited it as a child.)
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! 🙂
It always surprises me when I re-realize that everyone doesn’t live near the ocean. (It also makes me feel guilty that I don’t spend more time “up close and personal.”) Gorgeous shot!
Thank you! I can never go to the ocean enough. We should go together more often.
I so love this picture. I took one very similar to it this summer, I don’t know how to share it with you.
What is the sand? The sand where I go (on the gulf) is white and fluffy. That looks like shells, is that what it is?
Beautiful picture!
Thank you. No white sand here — ours is crushed rocks and shells. This beach has larger, coarser pieces of sand, but some are quite fine and soft – but always some shade of this golden brown color.
Hi, here’s a link to the post I did that has the similar ocean picture if you want to look: http://bsain.wordpress.com/2012/07/21/awake-and-unafraid/
